Scotland on Airlander radar

Airlander manufacturer Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) is working with Scotland’s Highland and Islands Transport Partnership (HITRANS) to build a business case for its passenger/airfreight airships.

HITRANS is the government transport body for the Highland and Islands (a northern region with few residents that makes up more than 50 per cent of Scotland’s land mass).

HAV has already said it will reserve early production slots for six Airlander 10 aircraft for HITRANS.

The Airlander 10 can carry about 100 passengers, 10 tonnes of freight or a combination of both. HAV expects its Airlander 10 to be in full-scale production by the end of the decade.
