TAT in Canada initiative

Following the resumption of Air Canada's four B787-9 flights a week from Vancouver to Bangkok earlier this month, The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) hosted an ‘environment, social and governance' (ESG) event for 48 international delegates attending the Air Canada Asia Pacific Sales Summit at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel and Towers on Bangkok’s riverside.

Siripakorn Cheawsamoot, TAT deputy governor for International Marketing, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas said the event was in line with TAT's and the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

“These include efficient and clean energy, sustainable destinations and communities and climate action.”

Event highlights included sightseeing of Wat Arun and making coasters using concrete waste in a community workshop. Delegates used electric tuk-tuks and public ferry trips, reflecting the activity’s commitment to efficient and clean energy.

TAT and Canadian officials also discussed opportunities for tourism cooperation with Air Canada.
