BA again ups flight totals

UK carrier British Airways is upping the stakes for the next planned five-day strike by cabin crew from Saturday June 5.

It says it will operate as many as 80 per cent of its scheduled long haul and 70 per cent of short haul services during the stoppage.

BA has gradually increased the number of flights flown throughout the current series of strikes, saying increasing numbers of cabin crew are turning up for duty.

There appears to be no immediate prospect of a settlement to the dispute and the Unite union has threatened to hold a new strike ballot that could extend the dispute into the northern summer holiday period.
