Australian domestic fares tumble

Australia's Qantas Airways and Virgin Blue have cut domestic fares as they bring planes back into service following last year's global recession.

Fares from Sydney to Melbourne are as low as A$35 one way.

Qantas has 168 new planes due in the next eight years, while Virgin Blue has placed orders for more than 100 Boeing 737s.
