Passengers win some, lose some at Aberdeen

Aberdeen Airport in Scotland has introduced new scanners that mean passengers can carry more than 100ml bottles of liquid in the cabins, joining London City and Teesside airports that have had the new scanners for some time.

The new scanners also mean electronic items such as laptops and other devices do not need to be taken out of bags.

On the down side, however, from the start of May, anyone catching a taxi at Aberdeen Airport should expect to pay a GBP7 fee.

The charge replaces the GBP200 a week subscription fee that allows cabbies to pick up and drop customers at the terminal’s exclusive rank.
