Sydney Airport posts net loss

Australia's Sydney Airport has posted a net loss of almost A$600 million for 2023, blaming finance costs and depreciation.

Revenue was A$1.7 billion and EBITDA was A$1.22 billion, thanks to aviation fees, property leases, parking fees, shop and car rentals.

This is roughly in line with its pre-Covid earnings of A$1.15 billion in 2019 and A$1.28 billion in 2018.

The airport last year appointed former Transurban boss Scott Charlton as its ceo, replacing Geoff Culbert.
