Following the island's wildfires, Hawaii's governor says travel restrictions on parts of West Maui will be lifted on October 8, but passenger counts have drastically fallen and airlines are suspending service to Maui’s Kahului Airport. 

 

“People can show their support for Maui by booking trips, making restaurant reservations and frequenting Maui’s retail stores and attractions that support workers and their families,” the Hawaii Tourism Authority wrote in a statement.
