In Western Australia, Busselton Margaret River Airport has been given A$250,000 to research a business case for expansion.

The  WA government will fund A$127,000 of the total, with the rest coming from the City of Busselton and other South West local government bodies.

The City of Busselton will find a consultant to carry out the business case work and the South West Development Commission will provide strategic oversight, by chairing the working group that will offer direction on the development of the business case.
