Emirates Group reports best-ever financials

Dubai-based Emirates Group has reported its best-ever financial performance, with a record profit of AED18.7 billion (US$5.1 billion), up 71 per cent from last year, record revenue, and record level of cash assets.

Group revenue increased 15 per cent to a new high of AED137.3 billion (US$37.4 billion), driven by strong customer demand across its businesses.

It ended the year with the highest-ever cash balance of AED47.1 billion (US$12.8 billion).

Emirates airline reported a new record profit of AED17.2 billion (US$4.7 billion), up 63 per cent from AED10.6 billion (US$2.9 billion) last year.

Airline revenue rose 13 per cent to AED121.2 billion (US$33.0 billion).

The airline's capacity increased by 20 per cent to 57.7 billion ATKMs, closer to pre-pandemic levels.

Ground handler dnata reported a profit of AED1.4 billion (US$0.4 billion), significantly improved from its AED331 million (US$90 million) profit last year.

Dnata's revenue increased 29 per cent to hit a new record AED19.2 billion (US$5.2 billion), reflecting increased customer flight activity and travel demand across its UAE and worldwide business divisions.
