FREIGHT OPERATING AGAIN AT TURKEY’S ATATURK AIRPORT

Despite a huge fire in cargo facilities at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport Thursday regular traffic has begun operating again. The fire injured three people and totally destroyed all cargo terminals including warehouse facilities.

The airline handling offices were partly damaged and can not be used. Offices have been relocated to Atatürk Airport which had not been affected by the fire. Lufthansa says all its passenger and freighter services to and from Istanbul will operate as scheduled. An embargo which was imposed at short notice yesterday has been lifted.
